Review Review: “HOSEI SCITECH FORUM”

On March, 1, 2024, I have observed the event, Hosei Scitech Forum, that was provided by Hosei Rikei Consortium1 that is interesting to me with the character which reflects the status quo undergoing transforming to something foreseen by T. C. Schelling, some diversified society. This forum has been transferring its administration to Hosei Rikei Consortium, and become to emphasize the presentation of the students’ works. When I learned it, I decide to participate the forum because I am interested for it, and I tell it to some acquaintances. Then a person sent me a answer, “I want to participate the forum, therefore I try to reschedule,” and he did reschedule and we have decided to participate the forum together. He is a famous engineer, Masahiro Hara, the inventor of “QR code.” This forum have carried many stages, The explanation of the effort to make the college operation suitable to SDGs by Prof. Yoshifumi Okamoto, The presentation of recent study also by Prof. Y. Okamoto, the explanation about a scholarship system by Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), the career meeting by the local governments and the private enterprises, the presentations by the students of this university, get‐together meeting, etc. Because the presentations provided by the students were large number and each was good, and took our time too long, we have lost the time to observe the career meeting that was participated by Kanagawa prefecture’s government that have been invited by us. I looked around the various presentations of their studies, together with Dr. Hara who did be having the attention for the forum, to encourage the students, and changed his schedule, to participate the forum. Dr. Hara encouraged the students, talking to them who were showing their, studies, not only on information sciences but on physics, on agriculture and etc, even though his field is information science. I guess such the opportunity that a famous scholar, such as Dr. Hara, observes the studies of college students can be to encourage their abilities, including their expression skills.  Dr. Hara was seeing a presentation, and listening the explanation by the student of the Department of Advanced Sciences.  In the front of the presentation by a student of the Major in Applied Electronics Engineering of the graduate school.  In the front of the presentation by a student of the Department of Clinical Plant Science.  In the front of the presentation by a student of the Major in Applied Informatics of the graduate school.  Because I told the dean of the college’s science and engineering department, Prof. Kazuyuki Ito, that I would participate the forum together with Dr. Hara, Prof. Ito had proposed good receptions including the speech section by Dr. Hara, but due to the my requests desiring Dr. Hara to plenty see the studies by the students, I didn’t accept some of receptions. Anyway, the receptions proposed by Prof. Ito have been sufficiently nice.  On the day, may number of the alumni association, M. Yamaguchi, sent us to Koganei campus from Koganei station. About Dr. Masahiro Hara Dr. Masahiro Hara has invented the QR code in 1994. The QR code has known an item as useful one with smart phones, but the start was to target a code durable to crack s and pollutions, therefore the code has very highly durability to them.  (An example of QR code) Now QR code is used in many areas in the world. And Dr. Hara has been prized the most noble academic prize of this empire, Onshi-shou. Of course the emperor and empress of the empire of Japan, have participated the ceremony, met him and asked him to talk about his work.
